I have been a model railroader, railfan and historian for over 50 years.  The roads that I primarily interested in are BC Rail, Esquimalt & Nanaimo Railway and Southern Railway of British Columbia.

After graduating high school, I served in the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve for two years. I then enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy where I served for 4.25 years. I then worked for CP Rail (E&N) for 9 months as a wiper before moving to CP/CN subsiduary the Northern Alberta Railway as a trainman for three months before going back to CP as a trainman for six months. I then joined BC Corrections for a 30 year career retiring on December 25, 2006, and started a new career as a Commissionaire on Octorber 28, 2006 until May 31, 2019 when I retired permanently.
